In less than a week, a momentous anthology of short fiction will be loosed upon an unsuspecting world. It's called When the World Stopped, and I couldn't be more pleased to have been invited to contribute. You might want to follow the Facebook page for the book if you aren't already. It's been a really fun promotional way station leading up to the book's release, and the page is likely to have some steam for a while yet. There's an energy around this project that makes me think it's going to turn some heads.

Wayne Fenlon, who curated the stories for When the World Stopped—in addition to pouring the work of ten men into the promotional side of things—has kindly allowed me to release the full recording of the YouTube video in which I read my story "In the Becoming" in advance of the official release date of October 13, 2026. So here it is:

I'd like to thank my fellow contributors for making this such a memorable book launch to be a part of. I'd also like to call out Jennifer Bernardini, who's been handling the behind-the-scenes editing for the book, which will be out under the Exploding Head Fiction imprint of Exploding Head Arts. For Wayne, thanks doesn't really cover it, but I guess it'll have to do for now.

No need to wait until October 13, by the way. If ebooks are your thing, pre-orders are wide open. Just be prepared for an emotional and terrifying descent.
